!["How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver" Proverbs 16:16 (NKJV)](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/08de48_8ede3e1e0f4344d09e4a696649fe65a9~mv2.png/v1/fill/w_980,h_980,al_c,q_90,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_avif,quality_auto/08de48_8ede3e1e0f4344d09e4a696649fe65a9~mv2.png)
The Christmas season is upon us. Bright lights add a warm glow to the streets, Christmas trees bring a sweet fragrance to cheerful homes, and carols are heard in every store. Speaking of carols, most people know the song "We Three Kings" which sings of three wise men who visited Jesus after His birth. The visual of three men, dressed as wealthy gypsy's and bearing gold, frankincense, and myrrh, has become the popular understanding surrounding this event. This stems from the scripture in Matthew 2:11
"And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh."
However, there is much more to this story than mere Christmas tradition. Today, and in the days leading up to Christmas, we will embark on the journey of the wise men, and uncover truths surrounding not only Christmas, but also wealth and wisdom in the kingdom of God, and how to acquire them.
Tradition tells of only three of these wise men, due to the three types of gifts stated in Matthew 2:11. However, the Holy Scriptures do not state that. In fact, the Scriptures do not mention the number of wise men at all:
"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,"
Matthew 2:1 (KJV, emphasis mine)
As written, the exact number of wise men that came to meet Jesus at His birth is not stated. However, we can learn from history to gain a more accurate depiction of the number of wise men, as well as a deeper understanding of who these men really were, what their purpose was, and how much wealth and power they truly carried with them.
Historically, the wise men were called "magi," which means "powerful one" or "great one." They were known for their elite wisdom in dream interpretation and studying the constellations. During their time, the study of the constellations was regarded as a science. The magi were incredibly wealthy and respected on an international level, but their highest level of purpose, influence and authority rested specifically over... the making of kings.
The magi were gifted, to say the least. Spiritually, intellectually, and monetarily, their gifts brought them to stand before the King of the world at His birth. And just as the magi, so too can your gifts open doors for you and bring you into the presence of greatness.
"A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men."
Proverbs 18:16 (KJV)
During the era of the magi's, the wisdom of discerning the times and seasons by means of the stars and their constellations, was a gift that brought them much favor, power, wisdom, and wealth. Today, we can walk in similar gifts that also make room for us, opening doors to wealth, wisdom, and ultimately living a victorious life. The learned gifts of analyzing the financial times and seasons (the market), as well as the spiritual times and seasons, are gifts that lead to all of these things. To humble ourselves, and be willing to learn, is perhaps the ultimate gift that we can give to ourselves, and is the first sign of true wisdom.
"A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels."
Proverbs 1:5 (KJV)
"An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge."
Proverbs 18:15 (ESV)
"Give instruction to a wise man, and he will yet be wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning."
Proverbs 9:9 (KJV)
Wealth, success, health, abundance, victory... all are gained through wisdom. Nothing can be built, and expected to remain and continually increase, without it.
"By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established.
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches."
Proverbs 24:3-4 (ESV, KJV)
Like the magi, men renowned for their wisdom and power, we too can experience gifts and callings that bring us into greatness. Are we willing to humble ourselves, and learn? All problems of defeat in life, are rooted in what is actually a lack of knowledge. True wisdom, and eternal life, come from what is written in the WORD.
No knowledge of God, no real wisdom.
No wisdom, no victory.
No victory, no life.
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:"
Hosea 4:6a (KJV)
"And, Jesus answering said to them, 'You err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.'"
Matthew 22:29
It is the WORD, learned and understood through the Spirit of God, that gives life, and life abundantly to all who are willing to receive. It is the knowledge of God, that quickens the mind of man with supernatural wisdom and understanding to win in life.
Know the Spirit of God, know wisdom.
Know wisdom, know victory.
Know victory, know eternal life.
"The Spirit gives life, the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life."
John 6:63 (KJV, emphasis mine)
Here at Victory Investment Academy, we help you build your house upon true wisdom. Not the wisdom of the world, that is fleeting and changing and ever-contradicting itself. But upon the wisdom of the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of victory, that overcomes and conquers every single time.
And just like the magi, the gifts you acquire from VIA, will make room for you, opening doors in your life to greatness beyond what you ever imagined, giving you the ability to discern the right paths from the wrong paths...
according to the power that works within you.
Are you willing to learn? Are you willing to overcome?
There is a great and effectual door open unto you now.
Will you conquer the many adversaries by renewing your mind to the truth?
And like the magi's, will you travel the way of wisdom?
"For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries."
1 Corinthians 16:9 (KJV)
"I have taught thee in the Way of Wisdom; I have led thee in right paths."
Proverbs 4:11 (KJV, emphasis mine)
!["For wisdom, like money, is a shelter, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of its owner."
